Our Achievements

KPSE 2018 Participated as supervisors and enumerators at the 2018 key-population size estimation in FCT which was organised by NACA in conjunction with University of Maryland, Baltimore.
CHARR Initiative 2021-2022 A donor-funded project focused on equipping PWUDs in Gwagwalada and Bwari, Abuja with knowledge and skills on safer health practices, safer injecting practices, harm reduction, human rights etc.
ADURM Project 2022-2024 A donor-funded advocacy-based project targeted at engaging stakeholders in Gwagwalada and Bwari, FCT, in order to sensitize them on matters concerning the well-being of people who use drugs with a view to fostering a more empathetic attitude and achieving behavioural change.
ADURM Phase II 2024-2025 A donor-funded project which is a scale up of the ADURM project targeted at engaging with stakeholders in FCT to educate them on matters concering the rights and well-being of people who use drugs with a veiw to fostering a more empathetic attitude, reducing stigma & discrmination against PWUDs as well as achieving behavioural change.
Public Hearing on the NIDAR Bill As a member organisation under DHRAN (Drug Harm Advocacy Network), we participated in the public hearing on the NIDAR Bill which was held on 24th June, 2025 at the National Assembly in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria.
National Drug Law and Policy Reforms Under the auspices of DHRAN (Drug Harm Reduction Advocacy Network), we participated in the National Drug Law and Policy Reforms held at the National Human Rights Commision headquarters in Abuja, FCT on 8th July, 2025. The event had various stakeholders in attendance and members from our PWUD-community had the opportunity to share their stories and struggles.
HLAPI Sensitization Discussion via Nigerian TV Stations In December 2024 and July 2025, HLAPI was inviolved in a 30-minute sensitization discussion to sensitize the Nigerian populace on issues concerning people who use drugs on NTA, Aso TV and AIT.
